Docket Nos. 50-361 and 50-362 Updated Final Safety Analysis Report (UFSAR), Revision 11 San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station (SONGS)
Units 2 and 3 The following addition will be made to the UFSAR in response to the latest review and comments on Proposed Change Number 299 by the Office of General Counsel.
"10 CFR 50.36 requires that:
Each license authorizing operation of a production or utilization facility of a type described in $50.21 or $50.22 will include technical specifications. The technical specifications will be derived from the analyses and evalue 'on included in the safety analysis report, and amendments thereto, submitted pursuant to $50.34. The Commission may include such additional technical specifications as the Commission finds appropriate.
Requirements originally located in technical specifications that were deemed Number (PCN) 299) pecification Improvement Program (TSIP; Proposed Change by the Technical S to be not derived from the safety analyses, were permitted to be relocated to either the Licensee Controlled S)ecifications (LCS) or the UFSAR. The LCS is incorporated by reference into t1e UFSAR, and is controlled by procedure S0123-XXX-2.4."
The next 10 CFR 50.71(e) submittal is scheduled for March 1996 following our ongoing SONGS Unit 3 outage.
In this submittal, Southern California Edison plans to incorporate this provision into Chapter 16.0, Technical Specifications, of the UFSAR.
