Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating Station Docket No. 50-219 Liquid Radwaste Discharge Radiation Monitor e
In our letter (C321-SI-2363) dated January 8,1992, GPU Nuclear committed to restore capability to monitor the liquid radwaste effluent line.
In our telephone conversation with Region I staff on January 29, 1992, the staff requested us to document the status of our efforts in this regard by February 15, 1992. This letter is provided in response to that request.
The existing liquid radwaste effluent line discharge radiation monitor system sample chamber has been cleaned and decontaminated and the electronics have been i
refurbished and calibrated. At present, fittings and connections are undergoing inspection and operating procedures and operator training needs are being reviewed. We anticipate that these efforts will be completed with the monitor functional by August 1, 1992.
We have no plans at present for any future releases via this pathway.
Based on the above, we do not now intend to include our schedule for implementation of monitor improvements in the next semi-annual Integrated Schedule update as was indicated in our January 8,1992 letter.
