Mr. Michael K. Amato currently holds Reactor Operator License No. OP 2000), Docket No. 55 21383. Mr. Amato has boon removed from active reactor operator duty due to a temporary physical disability. Mr. Amato ceased performance of reactor operator duties on January 27,1992 and under went back surgery on February 4,1992 to remove a ruptured disc Expected recovery time is approximately four to six weeks. The severity of Mr. Amato's condition and anticipated recovery time are not considered a concern with respect to his current reactor operator qualification and training.
Mr. Amato is expected to sesume activo duty pending his successfuliecovery and a physician's approval. Carolina Power & Light Company will notify the NRC upon Mr. Amato's resumption of active duty.
