Gentlement Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.90, please find attached proposed license amendment to facility operating licenses NPF-9 and NPF-17 for McGuire Nuclear Station Units 1 and 2, respectively. The proposed revision to Technical Specification (TS) 3/4.7.7 will correct an error in Amendment Nos. 113 and 95 to Facility Operating Licenses NPF-9 and NPF-17, respectively. It was approved and issued on September 12, 1990.

Those amendments concerned the Auxiliary Building Filtered Ventilation Exhaust system. Since then, an error has been discovered in the wording of Surveillances 4.7.7.1(a)(2) and 4.7.7.1(b) involving the acceptance criteria for methyl lodida penetration.

Attachment 1 contains the proposed TS changes. Attachment 2 is the Technical Justification, and Attachment 3 is the No Significant Hazards-Consideration. The proposed amendment has been reviewed and determined to have no adverse safety or environmental impact.

By copy of this letter, Duke Power is forwarding a copy of this TS ' Amendment request application and No Significant Hazards Analysis to the North Carolina Department of Human Renources.
