Dear Mr. Traina:

SEQUOYAH NUCL2AR PLANT (SQN) - NPDES PERMIT NO. TN0026450 (M10,739)

Enclosed is an erosion and sediment control report covering construction activities at SQN during the period October 1, 1983-April 1, 1984. This is the second of two reports required by Part I, Section B(1)(d) of the subject NPDES permit. We requested an extension of the due date for the second report in our November 21, 1983 letter to you.

Construction activity onsite continues to decrease. All major earthmoving activities at SQN have been completed and only localized construction activities (roadwork, excavation for buildings, etc.) remain. As of April 2, control measures in 5 of the 12 areas (areas 1, 2, 6, 9, and 11) given in the 1982 SQN erosion control plan have been completed, and 5 more areas (areas 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8) are anticipated to be completed this fall.

Erosion controls are maintained in the remaining areas and will continue to remaiti in place for as long as necessary. We will submit a follow-up letter notifying you when work has been completed in the previously mentioned areas.

If you have questions, please call Michael llines or Stephen R. Wells of my staff at (205) 386-2971 or FTS 872-8971 in Muscle Shoals, Alabama.
