Catawba Nuclear Station Emergency Plan - Evacuation Time Estimates for Areas Within the Exposure Emergency Planning Zone (10 mile radius)

CN-134.10 Special facility evacuation times are based on the number of ambulances available within York County, initial travel time to the special facility, ambulance patient capacity, average travel distance for one round trip, plus added time for driver changes, refueling, and loading and unloading of people. These times are reported for the combined patient loads of all special facilities within your emergency planning area. This would include the evacuation of those patients requiring ambulance service from Divine Savior Nursing Home as well as Divine Savior Hospital.
Within Area 9, the Special Facilities - Best Estimate - Evacuation Time is 390 minutes, and the Adverse Weather - Evacuation Time is 450 minutes.
These evacuation times have been reported to the NRC and discussed, at leng*h, with local and state officials. Mutual agreement was reached that these values are adequate under a preliminary basis.
