This is to inform you of our schedule for providing responses to NRC requests for additional information regarding the Byron integrated design inspection. The interim report on the independent design review is also enclosed.
In reference (b), Commonwealth Edison provided responses to all of the issues raised during the NRC's integrated design inspection. In references (c), (d), (e), and (f) the NRC indicated that additional information would be necessary to resolve several of those issues. Some of that information has been made available during inspections at the offices of Sargent & Lundy and Commonwealth Edison. The balance of the requested information will be provided in a letter by June 22, 1984. A meeting will also be arranged with the NRC Staff to present and discuss this information.

Braidwood design, we have recently authorized Bechtel Power Corporation to undertake an independent design review. Bechtel is providing a team of experts to review the technical adequacy of several selected systems end the design process employed by Sargent and Lundy. This project was described to the NRC in a meeting on April 24, 1984. It is expected to be complete by July 31, 1984. An interim report of the work in April and May is enclosed. We understand that the NRC intends to review this work es.it proceeds.
Please address further questions regarding this matter to this One signed orignal and fifteen copies of this letter and the cnclosure are provided for NRC review.
