Catawba Nuclear Station Environmental Qualification of Equipment 1
LItem 1:
Provide confirmation that the Catawba maintenance and surveillance programs have been implemented.
. Response:
Duke Power confirms that the maintenance and surveillance programs which were described in detail during the NRC environmental qualification audit are in effect at Catawba.

Item 2:
Provide details on'the corrective action for Area Termination Cabinet 1EATC9A.
Response
' lEATC9A contained two timing relays for which qualification for a post-LOCA' radiation environment had ~ not been completed.
In lieu of completing qualification, these-relays are being relocated to a mild environment. The relocation will be completed prior to initial criticalit.y.
0 Item 3:
Provide the documentation status for justifying the ITT Damper Operators (Model NH-90 series) are qualified for the Catawba application.
Response
The draft copy of ITT Report No. 730.1.140 has been received j
and contains the test results to cumplete qualification for the Catawba application'of the ITT Model NH-90 Damper operator.
- Receipt of the formal. report is scheduled for June 30, 1984.
Item 4:-
Provide a description of the qualified sample systems that can provide information equivalent to that provided by the containment-high range radiation monitoring system.

The post accident sampling systems were described in response to
. question 281.9.. The systems can provide information equivalent to that provided by the containment high range' radiation monitor on long term. containment radiation levels.
