MONTICELLO NUCLEAR GENERATING PIANT Docket No. 50-263 License No. DP R-22 Inadvertent Omission of Renuired Surveillance Test -

A condition occurred at the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant which we are reporting to your office in accordance with Section 6.7.B.1, Abnormal Occurrence Reports, of Appendix A Technical Specifications of Provisional Operating License DPR-22.

On November 13, 1973, during a review of completed surveillance tests, it was discovered that the daily Linear Heat Generation Rate Surveillance Tests had not been completed for the date of November 9, 1973. Subsequent discussion with the operating personnel and examination of the control room log revealed the tr :ts in question had inadvertently been omitted on November 9, 1973. A review of computer data for the date in question revealed that neither of the paraneters monitored s by the surveillance tests had exceeded Technical Specification Irnits.

Corrective action consisted of appending the subject surveillr. ace rests to the previously existing Daily Surycillance Test Log thus enwrh.g distribution to the operating personnel. Additional corrective action will include a review of the process for controlling the distribution and use of the daily surveil- -

lance test procedures.

There have been no similar occurrences of omitting regularly scheduled surveil-lance tests at the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant.
