Virgil C. Summer Nuclear Station Docket No. 50/395 Operating License No. NPF-12 Revision of Technical Specification 6.3
Dear Mr. Denton:
South Carolina Electric and Gars Company (SCE&G) requests a revision to the Virgil C. Summ3r Nuclear Station Technical Specification 6.3, subsection 6.3.1, " Unit Staf f Qualifications."
The change is intended to clarify the educational requirements of candidatos for Senior Reactor Operator's Licensos.
The revision, as shown on the attached marked-up Tuchnical Specification pago, consists of a reference to NUREG 0737, " Clarification of TMI Action Plan Requirements,"Section I. A.2.1 and NUREG 1021,
" Operator Licensing Examinor Standards," ES-109D.
SCE&G has datormined that a finding of no significant hazards consideration is appropriato because the proposed revision is considered to be clarifying, administrativo in n'ature and consistent with Nuclear Regulatory Commission guidanco.
The revision has boon reviewon and approved by the Plant Safety Review Committoo and the Nuclear Safety Review Committoo.
The statements and matters sot forth heroin are true and correct to the best of my knowledge and beliot.
An required by Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 170 (10CFR170), a chock in the ancunt of Ono Hundred Fif ty Dollars ($150.00) is enclosed.
It is our understandlug that in accordanco with the recent revision to 10CFR170, SCE&G will be assossed in the futuro for the regulatory review required to process this chango.
