MOTION FOR THE EXTENSION OF TIME FOR THE FILING OF BRIEFS

Pursuant to 10 C.F.R. 82.711, Palmetto Alliance and Carolina Environ- l

mental Study Group hereby move for the extension of time for the filing of briefs in their appeal in this matter such that the briefs of the parties would be due after the remaining Partial Initial Decisions are rendered by the Licensing Boards now anticipated in October 1984.

By Notice of Appeal filed July 2,1984, Palmetto Alliance and Carolina Environmental Study Group have appealed from the Partial Initial Decision of the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board in this proceeding dated June 22, 1984. Pursuant to 10 C.F.R. 82.762(b) the Appellants brief in this matter is presently due to be filed August 1, 1984. There remains pending in this proceeding a Partial Initial Decision on emergency planning matters for which Proposed Findings are presently in preparation, and at least one further session of hearings and another Partial Initial Decision on safety matters, all of which require extensive attention by the parties during the coming weeks. On the basis of these outstanding obligations of the parties we here-l by move that the time for filing briefs of all parties be extended such that '
