Extension Request for Request for Additional Information - Increased Possession Limits Date: Monday, March 30, 2020 1:15:00 PM Mr. Mejias, On March 9, 2020, we sent a Request for Additional Information (RAI) in response to your January 6, 2020 License Amendment Request to increase the possession limits to the SNM-362 license for Americium-241 and Depleted Uranium. The RAI requested a response within 30 days, which would have been due on April 8, 2020. On March 3, 2020, the Office of Personnel Management issued preliminary guidance regarding workplace safety, telework, and work-related travel. Additional guidance was issued promoting the maximum use of telework for federal employees. The week of March 15, you informed me of the adjustments that NIST was making in terms of staffing and the availability of the Ionizing Radiation Safety Committee. In response to your request to me on March 27, 2020, regarding an extension to respond to the RAI, NIST is authorized a 60 day delay to respond. This would make the response due June 6, 2020. Should conditions continue, requiring a further extension of time to respond to the RAI because of limited NIST staff availability, please contact me to discuss.

If there is further licensing support my office can provide, please let me know.
