PERKif4$ , DOCKET l10. 50 220 On or about 1600 hours0.0185 days
0.444 hours
0.00265 weeks
6.088e-4 months
August 29, 1973 following a routine calibration of the Local- Power Range lionitors (LPRfi) and subsequent core power distribution calculation fuel bundle seguent.s were found to be operating slightly in excess of the allowable average planar LilGR as shotm in Figure 3.1.7 The Fuel Bundles irr question were reload 1 type. The maxinw average planar LHGR was found to be approximately 10.75 13(/FT. For this fuel type and nodal exposure of approximately 1930 MWD /ST the Ifmit shown on figure 3.1.7 is approxinutely 10.6 KW/FT. Itamediately steps were taken to reduce the maximum average planar LHGHR by reducing Core Themal Power using Reactor Pecirculation.

Flow. Subsequent core power' distributions calculations showed all fuel types to be operating within the limits showit on Figure 3.1.7.

In order to mintain the Core Power Distribution input data (LPRft) reliability at a high level the frequency of LPPJi calibrations will be increased from the nominal full power nonth frequency to every full power two week period.

In addition, steps will be taken to alter the existing rod pattern to acheive a flatter power distribution which will improve the margin between operating levels and lirnits.
