Dear Mr. Gagliardo:
The purpose of this letter is to provide a final report on a 10CFR50.55(e) concerning nonconforming materials manufactured by Tube-Line Corporatica and supplied to Wolf Creek Generating Station. This matter was initially reported to Mr. William Johnson of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Region IV, by Mr. Otto Maynard of Kansas Gas and Electric Company (KG&E) on August 12, 1983, and an interim status report was provided in Reference 2.
This concern was identified as a result of information provided in I&E Bulletin 83-06, " Nonconforming Materials Supplied by Tube-Line Corporation" (Reference 1).
The investigation of this matter encompassed direct purchases by the NSSS supplier and the A/E, subvendor equipment and/or material purchases, as well as site specific constructor purchases. This investigation has been concluded and results indicate that with the exception of seven (7) fittings, which were identified in References 2 and 3, there is no indication of Tube-Line Code materials being furnished to Wolf Creek Generating Station. Corrective actions, which were described in References 2 and 3, have also been completed.
