,3 Intervenors' Motion to Reopen the Record on Desicyh Quality Assurance.
Pages 46-49 of Attachment A centere on a Stokes' allegation (2/8/84, p. 6) concerning incorrect assumptior.about welds.
It'was alleged, among other things, that PGaridE had
. purchased'and used Japanese steel with radii of l.5T.
The text of Attachment A states that allegation is false (p.-47, para. 110).
In fact, the specific allegation is only half false.
While there has been no Japanese tube steel purchased or used at Diablo Canyon there h 2 been tube steel used for construction of pipe supports
~
with a radii of less than 2T.
It is believed that the final conclusion of Attachnieht A as respects the allegation in question remains the same, i.e.,
the allegation is without substantive merit.
However, the Diablo Canyon Project is conducting an extensive investigation into weld assumptions for tube steel applications in pipe supports and will supplement Attachment A as respects this allegation by Wednesday, April ll, 1984.
