Dear Mr. Vassallo:

- During a meeting at your offices in Bethesda, MD on March 21, 1984, Carolina Power & Light Company (CP&L) was asked to comment;on the status of developing a long-term living schedule (five year plan).for completion of required work at Brunswick Steam Electric Plant (BSEP).. The purpose of this letter is to provide that status and our plans for the future on this effort.

Carolina Power & Light Company is very much interested in, and endorses the principle of, a living schedule to ensure timely completion of required-modifications and other work at our BSEP facility in a controlled.and appropriately prioritized. manner. Towards that end, the Site Planning and Control Section has been established within the Brunswick Nuclear Project organization to establish such a' plan and vork is proceeding on development of a methodology for scheduling and prioritization of work. This methodology is expected to be' completed and partially. benchmarked by August 1984.

At that time CP&L would like to present this methodology to appropriate members of your staff. We would also be prepared to discuss our proposed f
