yl, Event Description and Probable Cause

- The biological shield blocks have been removed from the unit 1 reactor building' equipment. hatch for the unit 1 refueling outage. This condition thas been identified as a1 breach of a fire barrier penetration and will-i remain non-functional for the duration of the refueling outage.

Corrective Actions i T Proper procedures for breaching fire barrier penetrations are being.

followed~which include verification of fire detector operability and' establishment of an hourly firewatch ' as required by the action statement

of LCO 3. 7.12.

The fire barrier will be restored at the completion of the refueling outage which is presentlyischeduled to be-ccmplete in mid-April 1984.
