Letter, USNRC to WNPC, NW 95-95, June 23,1995
Subject:
IPEEE Schedule for Vermont Yankee This letter provides a revised submittal date for the Vermont Yankee IPEEE effort from that identified in Reference (b) of December 31,1995, to December 31,1996. This schedule was discussed between Vermont Yankee and the NRC Project Manager for Vermont Yankee on June 23,1995.
Vermont Yankee IPE analysts are currently responding to an NRC request for additionalinformation, Reference (d), regarding the Vermont Yankee IPE submittal. IPE analysts are also providing increased levels of support relative to implementation of the Maintenance Rule at Vermont Yankee.
As stated in Reference (c), Vermont Yankee recognizes that:
The maximum benefit for the IPEEE would be realized if the Licensee's staff were involved in all aspects of the examination; that involvement would facilitate integration of the knowledge gained frorn the examination into operating procedures,- training programs, and appropriate hardware changes.
Based on our policy of using dedicated in-house resources, Vermont Yankee plans to delay IPEEE instead of delaying higher priority commitments or assigning the IPEEE submittal to other than the dedicated W/YAEC staff.
Should you have further questions with regard to this issue, please contact this office.
Sincerely, VERMONT YANKEE NUCLEAR POWER CORP.
