Vermont Yankee Recirculation and RHR System Weld Joint Inspection Program for the 1984 Refueling Outage
Dear Sir:
By Reference (b), we agreed to submit our plans for inspection of the recirculation and other reactor coolant boundary piping systems for the 1984 refuelin5 outage, 90 days prior to the start of the outage. The purpose of this letter is to forward the enclosed inspection program.
Our inspection program includes our criteria for weld selection, ultrasonic examination, flaw evaluation and weld joint overlays. These criteria are cor31 stent with the intent of SECY-83-267C, Staff Requirements for Reinspection of BWR Piping and Repair [ Reference (c)]. also includes our justification for the adequacy of weld overlays applied during the 1983 refueling outage for a second cycle of operation, presently scheduled to commence on August 11, 1984 and end on September 7, 1985.
Our 1984 refueling outage is scheduled to cormnence on June 16, 1984.
