Dear Mr. Denton:
In regard to the Catawba Unit 1 Proof and Review Technical Specifications, issued March 2,1984, please have deleted all references to three (N-1) loop operation.
In response to FSAR question 440.58 it was stated that the Catawba plant is to operate only with four loops in operation during at-power modes.
References in the Technical Specifications to three-loop operation will only lead to possible confusion as to our intentions.
Thus, in order to avoid possible misinterpretations by station operations personnel and others, end to simplify the Technical Specifications, all references to three-loop operation should be deleted.
