l. Reactor Status.

The teactos st at us has not changed dus ing 1991. It is defueled. All par t s of the reactor which were t er1os ed in p r epa rat ion for defueling remain in the facility, es. cept for the control cabic (between scactos and console) which earlici had been n euoved and dest nyed by NRC s equest as a prerequisite to change in license status inom " operating" to " possession only."

2. Reactor Fuel.

The fuel is secuied in two safes in a 0.5 as iequited by the Technical contiguration which assules that l g

2. Decommissioning Plan.

The decomnissioning plan is drafted and in the hands of the Radiat ion Saf ety Cownittee. It will be submit t ed early in 1992.

3. Decommissioning Schedule.

The decommissioning schedule a part of the Decommissioning Plan, has been submitted to NRC in fulfillment of an eat.ier comm i t roe n t by the licensee. The schedule ant icipat es complet ion of all decom-trissioviing act ivities within one year of neceipt of NFC approval to proceed.

4. Decommissioning Funding.

The unive rsity Itadiat ioit Safety Office is adequately budgeted t o meet the anticipated costs of decommissioning, estimated to total less than $12.000

5. Administration.

The s esponsibilities of Reactoi Administ n ator and Radiat ion Safety Of ficer are born by the same individual whose title is Directoi of Radiat ion Safety. The Direc tor t eports to the Executive Vice Presi-dent of the univeisit y. An NRC inspect ion of activities under the t eactor license was conducted in January 1991. Four violations of administ rative 1equirements of the Technical Specificat ions seie not ed; none related to the safety or security of the reactor facility. Plocedures have been put in place to pieclude iecur-t ence; the Reactor Administ r ator was audited by the Chair of the Radiat ion Saf et y Cognittt e in Oc tober 199 t ; Technical specification compliance was noted.
