  .                 The purpose of this test is to verify ths full stroke capability of the Safety Injection Accumulator Discharge Check Valves,

[251S*141, 142, 145, 147, 148, 151), in accordance with ASME Section XI, Subsection !WV 3520. This test also verifles in Appendix D, the remote position indication for the Safety injection Accumulator Nitrogen Makeup Valves, [2GNS* SOY 853A, B, C), the Bypass Nitrogen Supply Valves [2GNS*SOV853D, E, F], the Nitrogen lleader Vent Isolation Valves (2GNS*SOV854A, B) and the Nitrogen Makeup Outside Containment Isolation Valves [2GNS*A0V101 1, 2) to satisfy ASME XI, Paragraph IWV-3300 .equirements.        !!. GENERAL TEST HETHOD Vhile monitoring pressurizer level and accumulator pressure and volume, the S! accumulators are blowndown, one at a time, by stroking open th6 in,          "alves.

The data obtained for each accumulator is then analyzed to verify proper check valve operation, by comparing the plot of the actual accumulator pressure vs. time to the calculated theoretical curve; and by Comparing the actual flow rate to the calculated minimum flow required to full-stroke open the check valves. l l ISSUE 1 REVISION 1 i' ( s

The overpressure protection system is in service with the RCS __/__(B) pressure at etse nominal value (approx.15 psis) or the RCS __/__(C) is vented. __/__(A) D. The Si accumulator to be tested contains between 7532 and __/__(B) 7802 gallons and the pressure is 100125 PSIG above RCS __/__(C) pressure. __/__(A) E. At least one channel of the S1 accumulator pressure and level __/__(B) instrumentation is in service and in current calibration. __/__(C) F. The SI valves within the bounds of this test are in NSA with i the following excsptions: i l __/__(A). 1. 1. SI Accumulators have a boric acid concentration equal to or greater than that of the RCS.
2. If the SI Accumulator boric acid concentration is less than the RCS prior to starting the test, verify a minimum. of 3000 GPM flow through the RCS for dilution considerations.

Following the performance of any test or procedure in which gas could have entered a safety injection line, the line must be completely filled and vented prior to the performance of this test. C. Certain stepe in this procedure involving the return of safety-related equipment or systems to NSA require

In these cases, the initials of a second knowledgeable person is necessary and                                             will    be identified by two (2) sign off lines next to the appropriate procedural step.

D. The potential to inject nitrogen into the RCS exists if the initial Accumulator pressure exceeds 170 psia with the RCS vented and the isolation valve is left open longer than approximately 40 seconds. (Reference IX.0) 8- ISSUE 1 REVISION 1

I , 2BVT 1.11.3 V!ZZ. ACCEPTANCE CR8TERIA A. The SI Accumulator discharge check valves (2 SIS *147, (148), (142), (141), (145), (151)] achieve full open stroke as determined by the following:

1. The actual pressure vs. time curve for each accumulator blowdown has been compared to the calculated curve and the actual curve falls to the left and below the calcule.cea curve. (IX.C)
2. The actual peak flev rate as calculated from the change in pressurizer level is greater than the minimum ft.ow required to full stroke the valves. Peak flow rato for each accumulator must be greater than 2481.6 gal./ min.

2. Depress the "HDSR" pushbutton,
3. Choose ' unction #10 print current data NOTE: Follow display prompts for the following command entries.
4. Enter the HDSR Log Number assigned to the test.
5. Enter retention level "0".

NOTE: The printout will take approximately 20 minutes so select a printer that is not currently being used or the FRF high speed printer (Printer 7).

6. Enter desired printer number.

c. Observe the following computer points.

2. Consult - the ERF Computer Group to verify the computer point source component has not been deactivated due to a-MWR or MSp.

1. Insert the appropriate floppy disk, "ACCTEST , into the disk drive of the ITT XTRA Perwonal Computer (PC 2).
2. Depress "F7" to exit to DOS, then Type "Y".
                 -3. At the prompt, Type "CD\ FORTRAN"       R.

4 .- At the prompt, type "A:" R.

5. Type "ACCTEST.EXE" R.
6. Using the Fortran format (6F'.2.3I2,2II), enter variable values into the enmputer program R.

The computer variables are listed in Table 8. l 7. Program will automatically output to printer. l

8. When run completed, type "C:" R.
