Quad Cities Station Unit 1 Proposed Amendment to Technical Specification for Facility Operating License DPR-29 NRC Docket No. 50-254 Reference (a): NE00-24146A " Loss-of-Coolant Accident Analysis Report for Dresden Units 2, 3 and Quad Cities Units 1, 2 Nuclear Power Stations," Revision 1, April 1979 as subsequently modified by Errata and Addenda 1 through 12.

Dear Mr. Denton:

Pursuant to 10 CFR 50.59, Commonwealth Edison proposes to amend Appendix A, Technical Specification, to Facility Operating License DPR-29. Recent changes to the referenced document (Errata and Addenda Nos. 10 thru 12 in Attachment 4) have extended the MAPLHGR limits for assembly planar average burnups from 40,000 to 45,000 MWD /ST for certain fuel types. We are therefore amending the affected MAPLHGR curves to reflect those changes,which are described in Attachment 1 to this letter.

The proposed' Technical. Specification changes are enclosed in Attachment 2 and have received both Onsite and Offsite review and

. approval. We have reviewed this amendment request and find that no significant hazards consideration exists as documented in Attachment 3.

Commonwealth Edison is notifying the State of Illinois of our request for this amendment by transmittal of a copy of this letter and its attachments to the designated State Official.

We have determined that this request is a 10 CFR 170, Class III amendment request. As such a fee remittance of $4,000.00 is enclosed.
