On behalf of Camlina Power & Light Company (CP&L), pursuant to the Fmedom of Information Act (5 U.S.C. Section 552) and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's ("NRC")
implementing regulations (10 C.F.R. Pan 9, Subpan A), I request copies of any and all documents or other records relating to:
l 1.
Allegations fmm 1993 or 1994 that CP&L's Nuclear Assessment Depanment ("NAD") lacked sufficient independence in making personnel selections; and/or l
2.
An NRC investigation of NAD's independence in making personnel selections, conducted on or about December 6-15,1993, concerning CP&L and/or CP&L's Brunswick Steam Electric Plant
(" Brunswick"), including but not limited to a letter from the NRC to Joseph L. Harness dated July 7,1994; and/or l
3.
Allegations fmm 1993 or 1994 raised by or on behalf of Nuclear Assessment Depanment personnel (including Quality Control Unit personnel) and/or NRC personnel at Bmnswick, including but not limited to Joseph L. Hamess, H. Paul Beane, and Richard Prevatte; and/or 4.
Investigations, inspections, communications, and/or allegations from 1993 or 1994 concerning scram time testing of control rods at Brunswick, including but not limited to issues at Brunswick involving the hydraulic control units, scram solenoid valves, control rod " sticking," maintenance practices /use of thread sealant on fittings in the control rod drive air system.
