Dear Mr. Felton:
Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, Debevoise &
Liberman requests copies of all documents prepared by or in the possession of the NRC or its Staff regarding the recent (or ongoing) investigation by the NRC's Office of Inspector and Auditor of the handling by the NRC Staff (particularly Region 2 Inspector Kim Van Doorn) of various allegations raised by certain welding inspectors employed by Duke Power Company at the Catawba Nuclear Station.
Such documents should include any drafts, supporting material, studies, reports, correspondence, testimony, interview notes, etc.,
regarding this subject.
We request that this information be provided with all possible speed and in no event later than the 10 working days provided by 10 C.F.R. 59.8.
