South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCE&G) herein confirms that all initial tests and activities have been completed, and continuing programs have been established as required by Generic Letter 89-13 Service Water System Problems Af fecting Safety-Related Equipment."
The installation of strainers on the service water supply lines to the Reactor Building Cooling Units (RBCU's) and the Emergency feedwater Pumps has been investigated per the SCE&G response to Generic Letter 89-13 on January 31, 1991. As a result of the investigation, the current methods of fouling control are considered to be effective, precluding the need for installing strainers.
Additionally, the RBCU's will be tested and trended as recommended in the Generic Letter rather than using the alternate method described 5 our response.
