Pursuant to the Freedom of Information Act, 5 U.S.C.
522, as amended, the Nuclear Information and Resource Service requests the following documents regarding license amendments to operating licenses issued to nuclear power reactors.
Please consider the word " documents" to include reports, studies, test results, correspondence, memoranda and computer records.

Provide a copy of SECY-83-249, dated June 23, 1983; 2.

Provide correspondence, notes f rom telephone conversations and other documentation of negotiations and/or discussions with Duke Power Company regarding the treatment of this amendment; 5.
Provide any lists in the possession of the NRC of:

anticipated operating license amendments regarding spent fuel storage; b.
current applications for operating license amendments regarding spent fuel storage presently under review of I
consideration by the Staff and/or the Commission; I
c.
current applications for operating license amendments regarding spent fuel storage being considered by the Staff for a j
no significant hazards consideration determination.

Provide any St&ff or Commission documents relating to the i
potential significance of the Lgtion v NRC case to the issuance t
of operating license amendments pursuant to the "Sholly legislation";

- 7. Provide all NRC memoranda or correspondence regarding NRC's notification of Congress of the no significant ha:ards consideration treatment accorded to operating license amendments for spent fuel storage, including but not limited to the Oconee-3 determination; 8.
Provide documents stating and explaining the " Staff assumptions" refered to in Footnote "b"
to the table captioned
" Status of Spent Fuel Storage Capability", page 3-2 and 3-3 to NUREG-OOOO.
In our opinion, it is appropriate in this case for you to waive copying and search charges, pursuant to 5 U.S.C. 552 (a) (4) ( A)
"because furnishing the information can be considered as primarily benefiting the general public."
