SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCES Highlights Vermont Yankee operated at77.98% of rated thermal power for the month.

Gross electrical generation was 312108 MWH or 77.69%of design electrical capacity.

Operating Summarv The fo11cwing is a chronological description of plant operations including

At the beginning of the reporting period the plant was operating at 99.86% of Rated Thermal Power.

840105 At 1252 hrs the Reactor scrammed due to a pressure spf.ke.

840106 At 2035 hrs the Reactor went critical.

840107 At 0514 hrs the Turbine was back on line.

840114 At 0730 hrs a power reduction was initiated for Turbine Generator and Control Rod Surveillance Testing.

840114 At 0930 hrs a return to full power was initiated.

840120 At 0645 hrs a plant shut down was initiated to replace main condenser expansion joints.

840120 At 1258 hrs the Turbine Generato'r was removed from service.

840120 At 1645 hrs the Reactor was suberitical.

840123 At 2026 hrs the Reactor went critical.

840124 At 0955 hrs the Turbine Generator went back on line.

At the end of the reporting period ~ the plant was operating at 99.81%

of Rated Thermal Power.
