After th2 succe ul restart of the E-4(D) Diess[ )1so proven l i'db test'was comple the surveillance The three other diesels vert operable. The E-diesel circuitry associated with the TD-2 time delay relay was then inspected and checked because a " Diesel Fall to Start" annunciator was again actuated when the diesel was
, successfully restarted. This investigation proved that the' relay time delay was properly set and had not changed.
It also proved that a resistor across the coil circuit of several relays in parallel with the TD-2 relay was not open circuited and of the
~~s,,,
correct value.
No control or circuitry malfunction was identified as a result of this investigation.
Following this investigation, the E-4(D) diesel was successfully started four times. No " Diesel Fail to Start" annuneintor was actuated during these successful In order to ensure continued starting capability, the starts.
E-4(D) diesel will be started each day for the next seven days.
If no failures to start occur, the diesel shall be returned to its i
original testing schedule.
Failure Data:
No previous diesel start failures have occurred.
