' dantification of Occurrence:
Discovery of incorrect uctpoints on ADS confirmatory low level switches.
_ onditions Prior to Occurrence:
Unit 2 at approxinately 100% power and Unit 3 at approximately 50% power.
escription of Occurrence:
As a result of the review of a suopected abnormal occurrence where LIs-3-2-3-83D was found to be cet at +11 inches rather than <6 inches, a typographical error in the Technical Specifications was identified (<6 inches should have bcon >6 inches).
The exintance of this typographical orcor was confirmed via telephono convorsations with the A.E.C. (Mr. Walt Saun::ck--Regulatory Operations, and Mr. Lear and Mr. Jaffe --

The typor.raphical error had been carried into the curve 111ance test orocedure which was sed to calibrato theno switchen. The switchco were therefore set to trip betvcen 0 inches and 6 inches reactor level.
- signation of Apparent Cause of Occurrence:
Typographical error in Technien1 Specif Lentions.
n alysis of Occurrence:
The safety i=p11 cations of this error are very minical.
These switches muld have functioned correctly to confirn reactor low level and thua permit ADS operation if required, or would have proven that reactor icvel was naticfactory, thus preventing ADS operation caused by an instrument line failure.
Ho-rever, the switchen would have operated at slightly <6 inches rnther than slightly >6 inchen reactor level.
? rrective Action:
The switches vero reset to a setpoint >6 inchen in accordance with an approved reviaten of the appropriate surveillnnce test.
