Hechanical dif ficulty in valve cotor contactor.

Analyrin of occurrence:
jsCp.'..l Both the RCIC and HPCI have an independent valve in the pump flov test piping S,).; y to the tcrus. The valve in the comon return line from both systens is if-Q considered a back-up valve. Failure of this back-up valve to close on either g;fl4 system initiation has minimi cafety significance since the prinary valve would V..
succcasfully stop this flow. This is a normally closed valve which is only M,i:/
open during flov testing of system.

D: y.y Corrective Action:
The d.c. electrical contactor was disassembled and inspected. A cuall burr 62 Q
%-9;'F van found on the contact pivot shaft. These burra vere renoved and the contactor re-asserbled. The valve was successfully tested and returned to Se.Wf service.
