Peach Lottom Atomic Pouer Station R.D. 1, Delta, Pennsylvania 17314 Identification of Occurrence:
Possible cracks in recirculation pump discharge valve 4 inch, bypass line piping.
Conditions Prior to Occurrence:
Unit 3 shutdown.
Primary coolant temperature approximately 150*r.
1)escription of Occurrence:
As a result of the ultrasonic inspection of the 4 inch piping associated with the recirculation pump disc.harge valve on the Unit 3 reactor, three

indications of cracks on the internal surface of the 4 inch piping were noted.
liesignation of Apparent Cause of Occurrence:
Unknown at this time.
Analysis of the Occurrence:
This occurrence did not result in any primary coolant leakage to th'e drywell.
Indications are believed to have locat.ed very small cracks of minimal depth.
Safety implications are minin11.
Corrective Action:
In order to verify the data obtained by ultrasonic testing, radiographs were made of the area where tuo defects were believed to exist. These radiographs verified the defectn.
Action is in progress to remove the section of piping containing the sucpected defects.
