Main Stcan Line Radiation tionitor RIS 3-.17-251C failed downscale.
Conditions Prior to occurrence:
Plc.nt operating at approxinately 50: power.
Description of Occurrence Hain Stears Line Radiation F.onitor RIS 3-17-251C failed downscale while plant was operating at approxitately 50% power. The downscale resulted from a loss of signal due to failure of the test relay to pick up af ter testing.
Designation of Apparent Cause of Occurrence:
Failure of the test relay to pick up following test.
Analysis of Occurrence:
Honitor failed downscale which r.ade the particular channel inoperative. Because cf the redundant channels of instru Antation, the re::sining F.ain Stena Ling High Radiation Isolation c.nd Scram oignals still had tha capability of performing their intended functions. Minimal nafety. significance is attached to this occurrence.
Corrective Action:
The failed test relay was 1::=odistely replaced and it was verified that the draver

vas again receiving the signal detector.
Failure Data:
One previously reported as A.O. 50-278-75-16.
