1 MONTHLY' NARRATIVE REPORT OF OPERATION
'AND MAJOR MAINTENANCE EXPERIENCE.
- This. report describes the' operating and. major maintenance experience for the month of November 1983. This. narrative report was prepared by the plant staff.-
.and:is submitted'in'accordance with Section 6.9.1.10 of the' plant Technical
. Specifications.
? Residual Heat Removal.(RHR) pump 1-1 was' replaced with an identical pump from
. Unit'2.. RHR pump 1-1 was. damaged as'a result of running the pump with its-associated suction valves shut. The RHR. pump was not required'to be' operable at the time of the event. The Unit 1 steam generator secondary sides were inspected. Small-amounts of debris were. discovered, consisting of weld slag,
. weld rod and.a nail, which were removed.
Following reinstatement of the Diablo Canyon Unit 1 Operating License and permission to ' load fuel, entry into Mode 6 -(refueling) and initial fuel loading
. operations connenced on November 15,1983.
No significant problems developed and fuel loading was completed by November 26, 1983.
Installation of the upper internals, reactor vessel head and closure studs was completed on November 28,.1983 and entry into Mode 5 (cold shutdown) was accomplished.
'No challenges to the'PORV's orisafety valves _have been made. Furthermore, no changes have been made in the Offsite Dose Calculation Procedure, the Environmental-Radiological Monitoring Procedure,.or any radioactive waste
