Steam flow was greater than 100,000 lbm/hr.
NRC (Zudans) was ntoified. After senior site management was notified, an orderly shutdown was initiated at 1220 hours0.0141 days <br />0.339 hours <br />0.00202 weeks <br />4.6421e-4 months <br /> on 12/31/83 Anoarent Cause of Occurrence :
Possible resin intrusion. Other plant parameters (offgas radiation level, Ph and conductivity) support this suspicion.

Initiated orderly unit shutdown and efforts to locate source. Orderly shutdown was terminated at 1435 hours0.0166 days <br />0.399 hours <br />0.00237 weeks <br />5.460175e-4 months <br /> after chloride concentration was confirmed to be within specification and the suspected source isolated.
An investigation is continuing into the cause and corrective action. A communication breakdown between the labratory and the shift engineer appears to have been the main contributor to the delayed action.
