methodology, and schedule for completing the Individual Plant Examination (IPE) for Limerick Generating Station (LGS), Units 1 and 2.
This information was submitted in response to NRC Generic Letter 88-20, " Individual Plant Examinations for Severe Accident Vulnerabilities," and its Supplement 1.
By letter dated January 9, 1990, the NRC accepted our schedule for completing the IPE for LGS, Units 1 and 2.
Our "05000352/LER-1988-021-01, :on 880601,main Control Room HVAC Sys Isolated Due to Channel D High Chlorine Isolation Signal.Caused by Rainwater Contacting Chlorine Analyzer Probe D.Special Event Procedure [[drawing" contains a listed "[" character as part of the property label and has therefore been classified as invalid. Implemented|October 31, 1989 letter]] specified completion of the intermediate milestone to investigate hardware and procedure chances by the entl of November, 1991.
The completion of this milestone is contingent upon establishing the risk profile and identifying insights from the IPE results that will ultima % ty form the basis of the submittal of the IPE results to the NRC.
For the reason explained below, the completian date for inveatigating hardware and procedure changes has been changed to January, 1992.
The IPE review process involving both internal as well as external expert reviews of the IPE methodology and results is in progress.
These reviews have identified changes to the models and results of the LGS Probabilistic Risk Assessment (PRA) to make them more realistic and consistent with current data sources and the PRA parformed as part of the IPE effort for our Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station (PBAPS), Unics 2 and 3.
