20545 Dear Sire In accordance with Secrtion 6.6.2 of the Technical Specifications, the following Abnomal Occurrence is reported At 0701, January 2,1976, while recirculating *B* Borio Acid Tank for routine sanpling, it was observed by the Control Operator t'.utt Borie Acid hp 'B' head stopped running. Attempts to restart the pump failed, and it van declared out of service.

Boric Acid h p 'A' was operable and run: ting during this time.

Investigation wvenled a defective stator and a desaged rear bearing.

Investigatice is continuing.

This incident vaa repsrted to Mr. Dick Parker of JGIC Atlanta and Mr. B. J. Furr of C1%L Nuclear Generation 17 telephone on January 2,1976.
