As a result of the Reference (a) teleconference, Comed performed an alternate review that assessed the effects of the inadvertent loading on the core shroud repair. This review is provided as an attachment to this letter.
The attached analysis uses the realistic assumptions as documented in the Referenc. a) submittal. The results of the attached analysis confirm and further validate Comb o conclusion that no permanent deformations nor gross yielding occurred as a result of the subject impingement. Furthermore, Comed has concluded that the NRC staffs Safety Evaluation for the Quad Cities Core Shroud Repair, dated June 8,1995, remains valid and bounding for the inservice performance of the core shroud repair hardware.
