SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE UNIT TWO OCTOBER, 1983 1

.10-1 to 10-13 Unit 2 entered the month at'a power level of 795 MWe and operated continuously until the 13th when the unit scrammed.

While surveillance testing was in progress, an Instrument Mechanic manipulated a.ralve too quickly and caused a spurious reactor vessel high pressure scram.

10-14 to 10-31 The unit was quickly returned to service and operated continuously the remainder of the month (with normal power reductions on weekends for surveillances). The unit reached a power level of 814 MWe with a capacity factor of 89.21%

and an availability of 97.29%.

SUMMARY

OF OPERATING EXPERIENCE UNIT THREE OCTOBER, 1983 10-l_to 10-31 Unit 3 was shutdown for the entire month for its scheduled refueling and equipment overhaul outage. Major work includes:

1) Removal of all fuel from reactor.
2) _ Chemical cleaning of reactor nozzles / recirculation piping.
3) H.Pc turbine and main generator overhaul.
4) Inservice inspection of welds.
5) Hydrolazing and painting of torus.
6) LPRM removal and replacement.
7) CRD replacements.
