Sub. ject: TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY - BROWNS FERRY NUCLEAR PIANT UNIT 1 - DOCKET NO. 50-259 - FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE DPR ENVIRONMENTAL ABNORMAL OCCURRENCE REPORT BF EAO-736hW THROUGH 7370W The purpose of thic report is to provide written notice of fish killed when impinged on the Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant unit 1 intake screens. This report is required by section h.l.2(f) of our environmental technical specifications, y :;

after each occurrence. Each of these incidents occurred while 'Ef fy washing the circulating vater pump traveling screens at the y ,

pumping station and was similar to the occurrences which were */!p) reported for BF EAO-732W-7363W.

The numbers of fish reported for BF EAO-736h represent an accumulation of fish impinged over a period of 48 hours5.555556e-4 days <br />0.0133 hours <br />7.936508e-5 weeks <br />1.8264e-5 months <br /> or hh' longer. This was due to a mechanical malfunction which prevented .,

two of the traveling screens from moving. As a result of this malfunction, fish impinged on these two screens accumulated for the total time the screens were immobile.

The tabulation below gives the date of each occurrence and the estimates of fish impinged. ,
