EMERGENCY RESPONSE DATA SYSTEM (ERDS)

IMPLEMENTATION PLAN (PR 900015-0)

Pursuant to the final rule regarding the addition of the Emergency Response Data System (ERDS) to 10CFR50, South Carolina Electric & Gas Company (SCELG) is submitting its ERDS implementation program plan. A meeting was held in Atlanta, Georgia, on October 3, 1991, with Mr. Jolicoeur of the NRC to discuss the requirerrents of NL' REG-1394 (the guidance document for ERDS implementation). In this meeting, it was explained that this submittal should include the following:

1. An implementation schedule for achieving operational status for ERDS at the Virgil C. Sufumer Nuclear Station (VCSNS).

2. A completed list of utility contacts per Section I of Appendix B to HUREG-1394

3. An overview diagram of the VCSNS computer system.

4. A description of how VCSNS intends to control the Plant Attribute Library (PAL) and the Datapoint Library (DPL).

The first three items are addressed by the attachments to this letter, in regard to item 4, the PAL /DPL will be maintained and controlled via Engineering Services procedures. These controls will be incorporated in the procedures prior to scheouled date for submittal of the PAL /DPL information.
