Report Date: January 17, 1975 Facility: Browns Ferry nuclear Plant unit 1 Designation of Annarent Cause of Occurrence On November 20, 1974, entry was made into the torus suppression chamber.

Electrical checks showed the cause of the failure to be grounded conductors in the inside torus penetration connector for valve 1-FCV-64-28M.
Corrective Action The grounded connector was disconnected and the wiring was routed to a spare penetration connector.
Failure Data There are no known failures of this type of connector before this time.
