Deceription of tr.e Incident '

Daring routine furveillance testing on October 9, reactor vater level switches LlS-3-203E and C vere found to operate outside the technical g)ppecification tero as specified setpoint in tableof3equal 1.a. to Theoras-found 6reatersettings than 538" were above 537 5" vescel f and 537 2", respectively. /T The reactor was in a cold shutdown condition.

t Investigation and Corrective Action These level switches are Earton r:odel 288A differential pressure l switches. The evitch mechenisms vere inspected for binding nicalicn~ents i or other irregularities. !ione were found. The switches were recalibrated l cnd then functionally tested several times to encure repeatability. A functional testing frequency of once every two veeks has been initiated and vill be continued until three consecutive tests prove entisfactory :
