DIRECTING THE ROCKLAND COUNTY ATTORNEY TO TAKE LEGAL ACTION IN CONNECTION WITH THE ORDER OF THE NUCLEAR REGULATORY COMMIS510N.
Mr. Ingenito offered the following resolution which was seconded by Mr. Gdanski:
WHEREAS, the Legislature of Rockland County has, by Resolution No. 538 of 1982,. authorized and directed the Rockland County Attorney to institute action against the Nuclear Regulatory Commission before the United States Court of Appeals regarding the December, 1982 decision of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to take no enforcement action against the Indian Point power plants, and WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 302 of 1983, the Legislature of Rockland County authorized the Rockland County Attorney to institute administrative procedures before the Nuclear Regulatory Commission pursuant to 10 Code of Federal Regulations 2.206, requesting the immediate shutdown of the Indian Point power plants, and WHEREAS, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission is scheduled to issue a further enforcemerrt order in connection with the Indian Point nuclear power plants in June, 1983, and WHEREAS, the Legislature of Rockland County has heretofore expressed its desire that the Indian Point nuclear power plants be closed, and l
WHEREAS, the Multi-Services Committee of this Legislature has met, considered and approved this resolution, now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, that the Legislature of Rockland County hereby authorizes the County Attorney to institute a new and separate legal action against the Nuclear Regulatory Commission and the Unitee States of America in the event the Nuclear Regulatory Commission does not shutidown the Indian Point naclear power facilities in its order scheduled to be issued on or about June 9,1983, and be it further J
RESOLVED, that the Rockland County L':gislature hereby directs the Rockland County Attorney to take1 such administrative procedural steps before the Nuclear

June 7,1983 RESOLVED, that the Clerk to the Legislature of Rockland County be and she hereby is directed to send a copy of this resolution to Hon. Ronald Reagan, President of the United States; Senators Alphonse D' Am ato and Daniel Patrick Moynihan; Congressman Benjamin Gilman; the Majority and Minority Leaders of the United States Senate and House, and to such other persons as the Clerk, in her discretion, may feel proper in order to effectuate the purpose of this resolution.
