SUPPLEMENTAL 10CFR50.55(e) REPORT:
LIMITORQUE VALVE OPERATOR LIMIT SWITCH ROTOR MATERIAL (SDR 83-13)
REFERENCE:
SLNRC 84-0057, dated March 30, 1984 The reference letter provided corrective action to be taken by the SNUPPS Utilities as a result of the cracked limit switch. rotor problem.
This letter is written to clarify Union Electric's corrective action plan as it relates to the changeout of uncracked Melamine and Phenolic rotors to Fibrite
-rotors.
The reference' letter stated this work will be performed prior to commercial operation; however, Union Electric will in-stall the Fibrite rotors in a Class lE valve before declaring that valve operational'for a particular mode.
This will ensure that all valves required for a particular plant mode contain Fibrite rotors before that mode is entered.
Please note that the changeout of cracked rotors will be accomplished prior to fuel loading as previously stated in the reference letter. _Should you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact the undersigned.
