McGuire Nuclear Station Docket Nos.: 50-369 and 370 McGuire Unit 1 ASME Section XI Code ISI Plan Update
Dear Sirs:
On February 27,1955 Duke Power Company updated the McGuire Unit 1 Inservice Inspecdon (ISI) Plan from the 1986 Edition of the ASME Section XI Code to the 1989 Edition. This Code update will take effect with the start of the second period of the second interval, which includes refueling outages 10 through 14. The First Period Inservice Inspection program was conducted to the 1986 Edition of Section XI, and included refueling outages 8 and 9.
During a comparative review for variations between the 1986 and 1989 Edition requirements, the Inservice Inspection requirements for snubbers was the only difference noted.
Request for Relief 94-11, submitted under a separate letter dated May 30,1995 applies to the snubber inspections for McGuire Unit 1. This relief request is submitted because of the differences in examination requirements between the 1986 and 1989 Editions of ASME Section XI.
All requests for relief submitted for approval under the 1986 Section XI Code Edition are still applicable to the 1989 Code update.
