Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
INSPECTION AND ENFORCEMENT BULLETIN NOS. 80-07, BWR JET PUMP ASSEMBLY FAILURE, AND 80-13, CRACKING IN CORE SPRAY SPARGERS - BROWNS FERRY NUCLEAR PLANT The Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant unit 3, cycle 5 invessel inspection of the reactor vessel was completed on March 12, 1984. The underwater camera system used for the visual inspection was qualified by underwater viewing of a metallurgical sample with one mil cracks.
In accordance with IE Bulletin 80-13, visual inspection of the core spray sparger and piping internal to the reactor vessel was performed between February 28 and March 12, 1984. No abnormalities were found. Total exposure to personnel performing the inspection was approximately 100 mrem.
In accordance with IE Bulletin 80-07, the' jet pump beams were. ultrasonically inspected on March 6 and 7, 1984. No indications'were found. The beams were visually inspected March 10,'11, and 12, 1984, and no abnormalities were found. Exposure to personnel performing the inspection was approximately.100 mrem.
