Draldwood Nuclear Power Sta_liam Units 1 &_2 BajsLw.Aod Station Security Pldn NRC Docket Nos. 50-456 & 50 457 TAC Nos. 65275/652,26 Exemotion Reauesj Commonwealth Edison Company (Comed) requests, in accordance with the provisions of Title 10CFR Part 73.5, " specific exemptions", an exemption from certain requirements of 10CFR 73.55, " Requirements for physical protection of licensed activities in nuclear power reactors against radiological sabotage" for Braidwood Nuclear Power Station Units 1 & 2.
The basis for this exemption is to allow the use of a hand geometry biometric system to control unescorted access into the Protected Area of Braidwood Nuclear Power Station in conjunction with allowing the photograph identification badges /keycards offsite.
The enclosure details the hand geometry biometric system, the process which will be utilized in employing this system and the proposed changes to the station security plan.
This enclosure contains Safeguards information which must be protected from public disclosure pursuant to 10CFR 73.21.
