Notification of Status of Reports for Dresden and Quad-Cities Stations - AEC Dkts 50-237,M 0-249, 50-254 and 50-265
Dear Mr. Giambusso:
The reports concerning high energy lin e break outside containment are still pending.
The latest review of the status of these reports indicated the following changes in expected submittal dates.
Dresden 2/3 Hiah Eneray Line Break Outside containment The draft report of postulated main steam line and feedwater line ruptures outside containment has been completed and issued in draft form for internal review and comment.
Review and commenting have been extensive and significant rewrite is required.
It is now anticipated that the earliest possible submittal date for this report will be mid-January, 1974.
The analysis of postulated ruptures of other high energy piping outside primary containment has not yet been completed due to the continuing effort related to the main steam and feedwater report.
Every attempt will be made to submit this information with the main steam feedwater report by mid-January, 1974.
Quad-Cities 1/2 Hich Energy Line Break Outside Containment Based on the anticipated submittal date of the Dresden reports, it is expected the Quad-cities report will be available by March, 1974.
Much of the work being done on the Dresden report will be applicable to Quad-cities; therefore we have not S

These changes in report schedule are due primarily to the significant number of comments and revisions to the draft report for the Dresden main steam /feedwater line breaks.
Efforts to complete these reports by the earliest possible date will continue and in the event of further schedule delays you will be notified promptly.
Very truly yours, J.
