< 4 INTERIM REPORT - DER 84-18 POTENTIAL REPORTABLE DEFICIENCY ARIZONA PUBLIC SERVICE COMPANY (APS)

PVNCS UNIT 1 I.

Potential Problem DCP ISE-RNF083 requires the installation of control switch CS-3 in 4.16 kV switchgear IE-PBB-S04F and wiring revisions to be made in accordance with BR3 of vendor drawing E009-186-9.

The DCP was signed as completed on March 10, 1983 but the wiring modifications were not completed until implementation of the work to NCR SE-3551 (SFR/NCR approval date 1/12/84) which resulted from a separate walkdown verification of vendor wiring. The effect of the wiring error, if left uncorrected, would cause LPSI B pump misoperation with the CS-3 switch in the local position.

II.- Approach to and Status of Proposed Resolution Bech'tel Engineering is currently working with APS Startup to determine reportability and justification for corrective action.

III. Projected Completion of Corrective Action and Submittal of the Final Report Evaluation of this condition and submittal of the-Final Rsport is Forecast to be completed by June 12, 1984.
